From Costa Rica
Cerro Alto
The Vindas family, Fernando Elias, and Silvia Vindas owns and operates four Cerro Alto farms and processing mill since 2006. The Vinda’s brothers had to face the death of their father during the early founding days of the company. The family is proud of continuing the family tradition despite losing their source of inspiration – their father.
The farms are known for a pioneering spirit when it comes to environmental sustainability. In 2012, the Cerro Alto processing station has earned a Carbon Neutral Certification.Their farms are former Cup of Excellence winners (ranking top ten) and highly sought after for their quality coffee. Three major varietals are produced on these farms – Caturra, SL28, Catuai. Most of the coffee produced here is purchased by buyers from Australia and Japan.
This year we are bringing you coffees from their cup of excellence award winning estate – Finca La Rosa. This estate sits in Heredia, Central Valley of Costa Rica.
